It’s YOU
It’s times like these that I come to you with bended knees and a soul that’s bruised When no one else knows what I’m going through It’s you who has the power to soothe my blues
When life is unfair and people do me wrong It’s you who keeps me standing It’s you who keeps me strong
I yearn to be a faithful child and live my life upright Yet the enemy just keeps after me Always spoiling for a fight
Sometimes I’m weak, the desire is strong I want to retaliate Against the enemies that continue to wrong the love I have with hate
I know that my judge, the one I serve would frown on such a state And condemn my soul along with theirs and I’d wait to share their fate
So I come to you on bended knee when my tarnished heart needs polish That the rage I feel can be assuaged and my burnished soul find solace
When life is unfair and the enemy seems strong It’s you I come running to It’s you who stops me from doing wrong When that’s exactly what my mind wants to
Thank you, Jesus
